| An enchating hollow captures the eye of even the most inattentive visitor: this is the Valle d'Itria with all its magic charm and its spectacular beauty. This unique panorama, with its conical constructions and green vineyards, is particularly striking. Its bright spaciousness and almost mysterious temporality attract both the eye and the mind like a magnet.
Our imagination lakes over from reality, as it is impossible to see where one ends and the other begins. Besides, the symbols drawn in whitewash on the trulli help give the mysterious and religious sense of an unusual dwelling specially conceived by man to satisfy a special need, enabling him to overcome the harshness of a territory that has been made productive by the stubborn toil of the farmers. The trulli, standing in groups or in pairs, with their decorated pinnacles and door arches, are wonders of static engineering, scattered here and there in his bright hollow, cool in summer and warm in winter. They are a true example of a primitive, spontaneous art form, but also the miracle of a great love for one's homeland.
