PRIVATE LODGINGS


The Tourist Board of Fano, with its appropriate organization is at the disposal of all visitors in offering the most cordial help and information.

The Riviera of Fano, varied in appearance and features, also offers a large choice in tourist facilities, an important part of which, by tradition, is occupied by private lodgings. The choice is vast as to number and types of lodgings, varying from the fishermen's houses along the port and the farm-houses in the country-side near the sea to the ultra moderm and well equipped "residence" with swimming pool and sporting facilities.
Considering the extention of the costal strip along which the private lodgings are distributed, we think it better to outline the characteristics and properties of each locality and zone, in order to help you select the one most suited to your personal requirements:
FANO

ZONE A) "Lido"
This is centre, full of life and ancient seaside traditions characterized by numerous attached houses in which are situated in prevalence the apartments of the area. The beach is sandy and large.
Maximum Distances: from the seaside 300 meters; from the centre 800 meters.

ZONE B) "Sassonia"
This extends rectilineal for over a chilometre along 2 wide principal roads which run parallel with the beach and its two transversal roads which join it to the near historical centre. The apartments are situated mainly in cottages, in new and modern apartment buildings and residence. The zone is peaceful with a predominantly pebble beach.
Maximum Distances: from the seaside 200 meters; form the centre 600 meters.

ZONE C) "Centro"
This zone encompasses an extensive area made up the historical centre and the neighbouring modern section. It is composed of a limited number of apartments of various types.
Maximum Distance: from the sea 800 meters.

Litoranea Nord
A very extensive area along the Strada Nazionale Adriatica, from Torrente Arzilla to Fosso Sejore. It is near the railway track which runs parallel to the beach which is in prevalence sandy and is protected by a reef in the sea. The means for arriving on the beach are the following: tunnels, underground passages and overbridges which cross the railway tracks. Each single zone is characterized by groups of urban dwellings.
"Arzilla": near the torrent by the same name.
"Gimarra":near the above, numerous cottages and newly constructed suburban villas extending on the first slopes of the hills.
"Fosso Sejore":small hamlet nestled between the hills and the sea.

Litoranea Sud
This zone also extends along the Strada Nazionale Adriatica from the River Metauro to Torrette. It is near the railway track which runs parallel to the coast. The means of access to the beach can be found in proximity of the larges groups of dwellings.
Ponte Metauro: (gravel beaches).
Metaurilia: (sandy beaches protected by a reef in the sea). Most of the dwelling are situated in cottages isolated by surrounding gardens.

TORRETTE
Delighful seaside resort, solitary and peaceful, composed of long beaches of very fine sand. The people who choose to stay here are those that prefer a quiet seaside holiday without crowds. Along the seaside boulevard that joins it with Ponte Sasso and Marotta are numerous residences of recent construction.

MAROTTA
A charactheristic seaside resort that stretches out on a predominantly pebble beach which extends for several chilometres. It is a fresh town, very friendly and still typically seaside. Besides the more important seaside centres all the areas indicated are sufficiently equipped with shops of all kinds, of principal public and tourist facilities and comfortable services of urban transportation and coaches.

CLASSIFICATION AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LODGING

In relation to the types, to the characteristics and the number of occupants, the private lodgings may be classified in the following manner: - furnished rooms with one or more beds.
- furnished rooms with the service of a boarding house.
- furnished apartments in cottages, suburban villas, apartment buildings and "residence".
Types:
A/1= room with 2/3 beds, kitchen, and sanitary facilities.
A/2= room with 4/5 beds, kitchen, and sanitary facilities.
A/3= room with 5/7 beds, kitchen, and sanitary facilities.
The apartments in each type may or may not contain a dining-room or living-room.

RULES FOR RENTING A LODGING

The lodgings are normally rented only during the Summer season from May to October.
In the months of July and August the renting of the apartments is preferably for whole months (from the 1st to the 30th of each month) - yet it can also be for 15 days (from the 1st to the 15th/from the 16th to the 30th).
In May, June and September instead the period of stay can be for a week or a lesser fraction of each month.

Except upon a specific agreement with the owner, the apartments cannot be sublet or occupied by a number of person superior to the specific number of beds per lodging.
All the apartments are equipped with running water, a stove or kitchen range which uses city gas or liquid gas, electrical energy (220V). There are also the necessary pots and pans and kitchen utensils with the exception of table linens, for the bedroom and bathroom. Usually, upon request, the owner of the lodging is capable of supplying the necessary linens, the use of which will be paid for beforehand.

PRICES OF THE LODGINGS

The prices of the lodgings are established in relation to the location, to the characteristics and quality of the apartment and vary as to the period of the season. As means of orientation one should note the monthly prices indicated for the location of the different types of apartments.

In the price of the rent the following are not included and are therefore debite to the tenant:
- The cost for the use of electrical energy, water, gas (established by reading the meters) and any other extra service or assistance by the owner of the lodging.
As a guarantee for the obligation taken to rent the apartment future occupant will verse a sum of money equal to 1/3 of the entire amount agreed upon as soon as he receives a confirmation. Except upon special agreement the entire amount will be paid at the moment of occupyng the lofging.

TOURISM PRACTICES

- Summer Rentals in bathing Centres -
(Collection practices in the Province, published by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Handicrafts, Agriculture of Pesaro, approved on 19th November 1992).

1) Purpose of the rental
Included in the renting of an apartment are the following:
furniture, pots and pans, dishes, flatware, water supply, light and gas (household linen are excluded, but if requested by a foreigner can be supply, on a fixed payment). The costs of water, light and gas are excluded. The cost of final cleaning is generally included in the caution money.

2) Form of the contract
The rentals may also be agreed to throught third parties. Unless agreed to otherwise, the apartments cannot be occupied by more persons than there are beds provided for.

3) Payment
Having come to an agreement, the tenant makes a down payment equal to about a third of the total. This deposit is also subject of forfeiture. The remainder is paid when the tenant takes possession of the locales. If he does not make use of the house he has rented, he is in any case obliged to pay the full rent or, if the owner succeeds in renting it to someone else, the difference.

4) Duration
Unless otherwise agreed to, rent for the bathing season is for the period June 1 - September 30.
Unless otherwise agreed to, the tenant may occupy the rented premises at 12 noon of the first day stated in the contract until 12 noon of the last specified rental day.
Letting percentage for the season-renting of furnished villas and apartments= 5% by the lessor and 5% by the tenant.
