THE ISLAND OF PROCIDA

Of the islands embellishing the Gulf of Naples, Procida, an isle about four square kilometers large and laid halfway between the extreme projection of the Phlegraean Fields and the isle of Ischia, is the one which has best suceeded in preserving its original, genuine beauty, unpolluted nature and simplicity of life, together with its century-old traditions.
All encircled by clear, shining water, this island, enjoying a mild climate all the year round, is like a little precious jewel case inbosoming natural sceneries full of exquisite green shades, colours of bygone ages, iridescent views, and a wealth of marvellous sights of a primitive and wild grandeur.
Procida can be reached both from Naples and from Pozzuoli. Frequent ferry and hydrofoil connections provide transportation in about one hour and twenthy-five minutes respectively.
